BEWARE OF EARLY SEXUAL GROOMING OF
TEENAGERS

“2.4 million online child sexual abuse case from India in 2017” stated by CID and West Bengal Commission for Protection of Child Rights (WBCPCR), where 80% of children out of 2.4 lakhwho are sexually abused are girls.
Cyber-grooming is the process where someone (often an adult) befriends a child online and builds an emotional connection with future intention of sexual abuse, sexual exploitation or trafficking. Such offence, as existed virtually therefore identification of culprit is tough because they use the Dark Web and Servers based in far countries.
Thus, the parents should play a huge role to prevent such abusement or grooming by various ways :
➢ To keep an eye on wards for Cyber-Surfing which can be tracked by account- configuration method;
➢ By putting limitation over their child to access internet and online games;
➢ By initiating conversation with their kids to aware about online threats and to avoid strangers;
➢ By making their kids engaged in other activities apart from internet platforms.
Hence, some provisions of cyber laws which covers the act of Cyber-Bullying such as Section 66A, 66C, 66D, 66E, 67B, 72 of Information Technology Act, 2000 and Section 499, 500, 503, 509 of Indian Penal Code.
Thus, if any person facing any threats or abusement via online should immediately file a complaint via online on National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal regulated under Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India .
